Most Portuguese verbs end in -ar and share one set of endings: drop the -ar and add -o, -as, -a, -amos, -am. Learn the pattern once and falar, trabalhar, estudar and morar all follow it.
Examples
- Falo português e um pouco de inglês.
- I speak Portuguese and a little English.
- Onde trabalhas?
- Where do you work?
- Estudamos juntos às terças.
- We study together on Tuesdays.
The mistake to avoid
There is no separate "do" in questions: falas? is the whole question.
