Routine verbs like levantar-se and deitar-se take a pronoun matching the subject (me, te, se, nos). In European Portuguese that pronoun goes after the verb with a hyphen in a plain statement, but it jumps in front of the verb after não, after question words, and after words like também or sempre.
Examples
- Levanto-me às sete.
- I get up at seven.
- Não me deito antes da meia-noite.
- I don't go to bed before midnight.
- A que horas te levantas?
- What time do you get up?
The mistake to avoid
Saying "Me levanto às sete" - in European Portuguese the pronoun can't open the sentence; it's Levanto-me.
