To ask about a whole life, Norwegian uses har plus noen gang plus the participle. The answer for never is aldri, and like other adverbs it sits after the conjugated verb: jeg har aldri smakt. The participle stays at the end.
Examples
- Har du noen gang vært i Danmark?
- Have you ever been to Denmark?
- Jeg har aldri smakt brunost.
- I have never tasted brown cheese.
- Vi har besøkt det museet før.
- We have visited that museum before.
The mistake to avoid
Aldri comes before the participle: har aldri smakt, not "har smakt aldri".
Where this fits in
Talking about the past, Norwegian A2: Tell stories about yesterday, last weekend, and life experiences using preteritum (simple past).
