Viime plus a noun means last: viime viikonloppuna. For ago, the time comes first and sitten after it: kaksi päivää sitten. Days of the week take the essive -na: maanantaina, lauantaina, with no preposition at all.
Examples
- Viime viikonloppuna kävin merellä.
- Last weekend I went to the sea.
- Kaksi päivää sitten soitin hänelle.
- Two days ago I called her.
- Lauantaina tapasin vanhan ystävän.
- On Saturday I met an old friend.
The mistake to avoid
Sitten comes after the time: kaksi päivää sitten, not "sitten kaksi päivää".
