Adverbs like aina, usein and joskus go before the verb. For so many times per period, Finnish puts the period into the inessive: kerran viikossa, kaksi kertaa kuukaudessa. Koskaan means ever and needs a negative verb with it.
Examples
- En käy koskaan kuntosalilla.
- I never go to the gym.
- Tapaamme kaksi kertaa kuukaudessa.
- We meet twice a month.
- Syön melkein aina aamiaisen kotona.
- I almost always eat breakfast at home.
The mistake to avoid
Koskaan only works with a negative - the positive word is joskus.
