Finnish has no future tense, so plans lean on time words. Weeks, months and years take the adessive -lla: ensi viikolla, tällä viikolla. Days and parts of the day take the essive -na: lauantaina, aamuna. Neither takes a preposition.
Examples
- Ensi viikonloppuna menemme mökille.
- Next weekend we are going to the cottage.
- Lauantaina käyn elokuvissa.
- On Saturday I am going to the cinema.
- Aion soittaa sinulle huomenna.
- I intend to call you tomorrow.
The mistake to avoid
The present tense already carries the future - no extra word is needed.
