The conjugated verb is always the second element of a Dutch statement. So if you begin with a time, a place or anything other than the subject, the subject jumps to just after the verb.
Examples
- Morgen ga ik met de trein naar Rotterdam.
- Tomorrow I am going to Rotterdam by train.
- In het centrum kun je overal fietsen huren.
- In the centre you can rent bikes everywhere.
- Hoe kom ik bij het station?
- How do I get to the station?
The mistake to avoid
Saying "Morgen ik ga..." is the classic error - once something is in front, the verb comes before the subject.
