Many everyday Danish verbs are a verb plus a particle, and the pair means something the verb alone does not: ordne op, tage sig af, finde ud af, se på. The particle carries the stress and stays after the object when the object is a pronoun.
Examples
- Bare rolig, jeg tager mig af det.
- Do not worry, I will take care of it.
- Vi finder ud af en løsning.
- We will work out a solution.
- Kan du se på det i morgen?
- Can you look at it tomorrow?
The mistake to avoid
Tage sig af needs the reflexive: jeg tager mig af det, not "jeg tager af det".
Where this fits in
Telefon, beskeder og små problemer, Danish A2: Ringe og skrive, sige undskyld, rede en misforståelse ud og bede om hjælp - hverdagen når noget ikke går efter planen.
