The Danish imperative is the bare stem of the verb, which is the infinitive without its -e: gå, drej, tag. There is no pronoun and no ending. To soften it, add lige or venligst: gå lige ligeud.
Examples
- Gå ligeud og drej til højre.
- Go straight ahead and turn right.
- Tag den anden vej til venstre.
- Take the second road on the left.
- Undskyld, hvor er stationen?
- Excuse me, where is the station?
The mistake to avoid
Drop the -e of the infinitive: gå and drej, not "gåe" or "dreje".
