The same prepositions в and на mean "to" or "in/at" depending on the case that follows. Use the accusative for movement towards a place, and the prepositional (usually ending -е) for being there.
Examples
- Я еду в Москву.
- I am going to Moscow.
- Я живу в Москве.
- I live in Moscow.
- Мы идём на вокзал.
- We are going to the station.
- Мы ждём на вокзале.
- We are waiting at the station.
The mistake to avoid
Answering "где?" with the accusative — "Я живу в Москву" mixes up destination with location.
