A Norwegian verb has one single present-tense form no matter who the subject is. 'Er' is used for I, you, he, we and they alike, so you only learn one form per verb and just swap the pronoun in front of it.
Examples
- Jeg er student.
- I am a student.
- Han er student, og vi er studenter.
- He is a student, and we are students.
- Jeg heter Anna. Hva heter du?
- My name is Anna. What is your name?
- De kommer fra Norge.
- They are from Norway.
The mistake to avoid
English speakers add an ending for he/she ("han erer"); Norwegian never does - the verb stays identical.
Where this fits in
