Add -면 to a stem ending in a vowel and -으면 to one ending in a consonant: 오면, 좋으면. It covers both if and when, since Korean does not separate them. Weather uses 오다 for things that fall: 비가 와요, 눈이 와요.
Examples
- 아침부터 비가 와요.
- It has been raining since morning.
- 내일 비가 오면 집에 있을 거예요.
- If it rains tomorrow, I will stay at home.
- 날씨가 좋으면 산책해요.
- When the weather is nice, I go for a walk.
The mistake to avoid
Rain comes rather than falls in Korean: 비가 와요, not "비가 떨어져요".
