For a yes/no question, put the verb at the front: Spreek je Engels? For anything else, start with a question word - wie, wat, waar, wanneer, hoe, waarom - and the verb follows it. Note that the je form loses its -t when it comes after the verb.
Examples
- Spreek je Engels?
- Do you speak English?
- Hoe heet je?
- What is your name?
- Waar woon je?
- Where do you live?
The mistake to avoid
Je werkt but werk je? - the -t disappears when je follows the verb.
