To tell one friendly person what to do, use the he/she form of the present tense: gira, sigue, cruza, toma. A few are irregular one-syllable words: ve (go), ven (come), haz (do), pon (put), sal (leave).
Examples
- Sigue todo recto hasta la plaza.
- Go straight on until the square.
- Gira a la derecha en la esquina.
- Turn right at the corner.
- Toma la segunda calle a la izquierda.
- Take the second street on the left.
The mistake to avoid
The command is not the dictionary form and not the you-form: it's "Gira", never "Girar" or "Giras".
