In the preterite the reflexive pronoun still comes first: me divertí, nos quedamos. And -ir verbs that change their stem in the present change it again in the past, but only in the he and they forms: divertirse gives se divirtio, dormir gives durmio, pedir gives pidio.

The mistake to avoid
The stem only shifts in the third person: yo dormí, but él durmió.
