A clock time takes a: a las cinco. A span takes de... a or desde... hasta. Before and after are antes de and después de, and both are followed by an infinitive rather than a conjugated verb.
Examples
- La cita es a las diez y media.
- The appointment is at half past ten.
- Trabajo de nueve a seis.
- I work from nine to six.
- ¿Podemos hablar después de comer?
- Can we talk after eating?
The mistake to avoid
After antes de and después de the verb stays in the infinitive: después de comer, not "después de como".
Where this fits in
Planes y citas, Spanish A2: Proponer un plan, quedar con alguien, cambiar o cancelar una cita, y hablar del tiempo que decide los planes.
